How can Hickenlooper love rock 'n roll but not the radio?

Watch Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper introduce the Flobots in this video by John Moore of The Denver Post from the newspaper’s recent Underground Music Showcase. Hickenlooper waxes philosophic about rock ‘n roll and the meaning it can have to each person and the change it can bring to a society.

“There’s rock ‘n roll that’s great music,” said Hickenlooper. “There’s rock ‘n roll that tries to change the world, that tries to address who you are as people, at the core of yourself, and what you do after you leave the concert. It tries to make the world a better place. That kind of rock ‘n roll is my kind of rock ‘n roll.”

So mayor, why is it that you love rock ‘n roll so much but don’t love the radio? Talk radio, that is.

Some friends and I started a Facebook page last week calling for Hickenlooper to return to the Caplis and Silverman radio show and answer some questions in his run for governor of Colorado.

Although we only started it a week ago, it already has more than 330 people (as of this posting) on it! Apparently the people want some transparency and answers to their questions. If you haven’t yet, please “like” the page www.facebook.com/HickIsHiding and support the effort to urge Hickenlooper to go back on their show.
