Seeing Hickenlooper's credibility gap

If Democratic gubernatorial candidate John Hickenlooper wants his campaign to be  a “statewide conversation,” why is he limiting access?

He won’t release the beneficiaries of his charitable donations.

After an April appearance on the Caplis and Silverman radio show where those questions were raised, he has yet to return. This prompted the creation of a Facebook page “Why is Hickenlooper hiding from Caplis and Silverman?” urging him to go back on air.

In June, WhoSaidYouSaid tried to attend and videotape Hickenlooper events around Colorado. His statements at a town hall in Sterling on June 7 indicated that his campaign was non-partisan and would reflect a larger conversation about the direction of the state. You can see for yourself in the video above what happened subsequently at campaign events in Steamboat Springs, Pueblo, and Fort Garland, (including a cameo from his camera-wielding cousin, Hollywood director George Hickenlooper).

Here’s another video from Hickenlooper’s announcement in Commerce City of his jobs plan on June 23. They wouldn’t let us in.

We were barred again on Tuesday in Pueblo . . . we’ll post that video soon.

John Hickenlooper doesn’t owe US an explanation; WhoSaidYouSaid is a video-based blog run by two Republican women.

Hickenlooper owes YOU an explanation. If citizens show up with cameras at his events will they be welcomed? What other questions won’t he answer? We have a little over three months until Nov. 2 to find out.
