Pres. Obama’s SOTU marks 1,000 days since the Senate passed a budget

Tonight marks a big political night where geeks like me will pop some popcorn, open up the TweetDeck, tune in President Obama’s State of the Union address and let the snark fly.

But in the midst of the pageantry and inevitable mix of platitudes and attempts to blame Republicans that is sure to dominate this evening, I’ll take a few minutes to remember that it’s been 1,000 days since Majority Leader Harry Reid’s Democratic-controlled U.S. Senate has managed to pass a budget.
