Polis: Eat veggies, save the planet

"Every time you eat meat or dairy, you're contributing more to climate change and global warming than all of the automobiles, trains, planes and buses combined," said U.S. Rep. Jared Polis of Colorado at a recent press conference.

Reminds us of the Woody Allen line: "Everything our parents said was good is bad. Sun, milk, red meat, college."

Stunt Doubles - Doogie the Senator

For five days in January, U.S. Senator Michael Bennet had the title of "Baby of the House" as the youngest member of the U.S. Senate. I guess there's more than one reason he reminds me of Doogie Howser.

Hey Sunshine - COAL in your stocking?

Namaste Solar CEO endorses Colorado Gov. Ritter. Owes the growth of his company (and presumably his wallet) to government. But when you turn on your lights remember that Colorado produces about 72% of its electricity - and $800 million into the economy - via coal... Ooooommmmmmmmm...

Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper flew in to Copenhagen for the climate summit next to a guy who has only a bike because it's "more fashionable" than owning a car.

Yes Hick, we are overwhelmed at how fashionable you are.

BTW, can you and that rich and fashionable guy you flew there with tell us the carbon footprint from your flight?

Population - The Master Variable

What a freaky video. This "scientist" describes reducing population as the "master variable" in climate change. What a totally creepy and Orwellian thing to say. This dude should hang out with Dick Lamm.

I'd also be interested to see what his idea of a better economy would be. If the "madness must end" of an economy based on growth and more and more, I want him to volunteer to be first and give up all his money and stuff (he can give it to me).

More taxes = more jobs; yeah, that's the ticket!

U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter of Colorado wants a tax on stock trades to raise billions of bucks for debt reduction and publicly-funded jobs. But if a teeny tax will work, just think what an even BIGGER TAX could do. It might make a dent in the 500 MILLION JOBS PER MONTH that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said earlier this year would disappear without SWIFT ACTION.
