A mad mom on the “spending bullies” vs. working families

Amy Oliver Cooke, radio show host and founder of Mothers Against Debt, gave a blistering defense of the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights at an event Tuesday at the Colorado statehouse, celebrating the end of Referendum C, a five-year TABOR “time-out” approved by voters at the ballot in 2005.

“TABOR is a parent’s best friend,” she said. “It is the only line of defense between the spending bullies that make their living in this building - and a working family’s budget. It is the only thing that prevents them - the spending bullies, the spending lobby - from reaching into the pockets of working families and taking more of their money at will.”
