Rep. Gardner exposes ObamaCare as a job-destroyer

Anyone wondering if U.S. Rep. Cory Gardner, R-Colo., was going to Washington with the same strong principles and speaking skills he demonstrated in the Colorado House of Representatives should have no doubt after his dissection of ObamaCare.

He described a manufacturing company in his Fourth Congressional district that employs 130 people…

“Even during the worst of the recession, this company kept every single employee employed by having them paint house, rake leaves - instead of firing them - because they felt obligated to their employees,” Gardner said on the House floor on Wednesday.

“Without this health-care bill, they predicted that their health-care costs would increase by about five percent. With this health-care bill, their costs will increase by 20 percent, an additional $200,000 a year to afford the cost of the health-care bill. That’s six people, six people that they could have employed, and hired, and put to work, provding them with benefits. But instead, we passed a job-destroying health care bill.”

Making good on their campaign promises, Gardner and his fellow House Republicans passed the repeal of ObamaCare by a 245-189 vote.

But will it even go to a vote in the Democratic-controlled Senate? Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., is “assures” that it will, according to The Hill.
