Lefty code word alert: revenue = taxes

I love it when politicos and activists try to use code words to cover their real agenda. “Liberal” becomes “progressive,” but since when did government intrusion and overtaxation become “progress”?

Carol Hedges, the director of the Colorado Fiscal Policy Institute - who has filed six proposed tax initiatives for the ballot - is getting better at “messaging” her tax increase. Hedges appears in a new promo video for the, ahem, “Progressive Women of Colorado.”

But rather than call it a “tax increase,” she talks about “expanding the conversation about how to deal with our current budget problems to include the issue of revenue.”

Here’s the thing: if we’re talking about more revenue for government it’s - say it with me - a tax increase.
