Votocracy is either the culmination of citizen participation on the Web (in which everyone becomes a “candidate”) - or a mockery of politics (in which everyone becomes a “candidate.”) Or, maybe it’s just a clever hook into the 2012 presidential election.

Whatever it is, it’s here - and angles to be a Facebook phenomenon.

“To take advantage of Votocracy and participate fully in this political social network – and to become an official Votocracy candidate – participants pay only a $99 registration fee,” according to the venture’s press release, which adds that state finalists will “compete to become America’s favorite presidential candidate via a nationally-televised reality show.”
