The Colorado Reapportionment Commission meeting went as expected Tuesday with the late-night Sunday Democrat map proposal passing with no debate on a 6-5 vote.

“Unaffiliated” Chairman Mario Carrera sided with the Democrats in the plan to redraw state legislative districts.

The Republican commissioners attempted to introduce a new map early in the meeting but their motion was substituted with the Democrat’s proposal and passed summarily. Commissioner Dolores Atencio, a Democrat, then proposed another motion to attempt to prevent any other maps from even being seen by the courts in consideration of the latest proposal. That also passed on a 6-5 vote, with Carrera voting again with the Democrats.
