Media conference in Colorado: watch it live

“Have the Media Failed America?” is the subject of an all-day conference on Friday at Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colo., sponsored by News in the 21st Century, a project of the Centennial Institute at CCU.

Registration and schedule information is available at this link. Or watch the live stream at about 9 a.m. Friday at Livestream.com/coloradochristianuniversity, with opening remarks from Bill Armstrong, the president of CCU and former U.S. Senator from Colorado.

L. Brent Bozell, founder and president of the influential Media Research Center is scheduled to be the keynote lucheon speaker. [See Bozell above on a recent episode of "Hannity."]

The problem statement for the conference, as published on its website, reads…

“A free society needs a free press to sustain it. This is the implicit logic of the First Amendment. Openness, debate, dissent, and the unfettered quest for truth are indispensable to liberty and self-government – and we rely on the media to facilitate these. With today’s new technologies and political polarization have come increasing concerns about media failure. If Americans are to be well served by news in the 21st century, what must citizens, media organizations, and educational institutions do better?”
